"Bustle" declare : What Is The White House Office Of American Innovation? Jared Kushner May Lead It

The White House Office of American Innovation will bring a business perspective to public policy, and will focus specifically on using technology and data to modernize federal agencies and develop new infrastructure projects. Members have reportedly been meeting twice a week in Kushner's White House office, and have been discussing potential projects and decisions with the President. Late Sunday evening, the Washington Post reported that Donald Trump plans to create a new White House office that will be led by none other than Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. In an interview in the West Wing of the White House on Sunday, the Post reported that Kushner said the government should be run "like a great American company." In addition to being led by Kushner, the office will reportedly be staffed by other successful business executives.

As it stated in The new office that Kushner will run sounds intriguing… … but Obama had a very similar idea first. According to the Post, Ivanka Trump, Kushner's wife and the President's oldest daughter, will "collaborate" with the new office. Kushner told the Post that he believed government should be run like a "great American company" which would achieve efficiencies for citizens who are the government's "customers". Reporters and tech executives are already weighing in on the proposed plan on Twitter and their overall assessment isn't kind. Kushner proudly notes that most of the members of his team have little-to-no political experience, hailing instead from the world of business.

Donald Trump has a plan to cut through red tape in Washington, and he wants his son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner to be the scissors. The goal of the White House Office of American Innovation, as the new team will be called, seems to be to help Trump establish a legacy he can be proud of by using distinctly non-Washingtonian means.
